Day 1 of the countdown is here - and the wait is almost over! Welcome back to Leonida. In just 22 days, Grand Theft Auto VI arrives, and this is the first post in my daily countdown to launch. Every day until release, I will bring you the facts, the deals, and the warnings you need - no hype without proof, and no paying extra for something you can get legitimately for less.

Here is everything you need to know right now: the release date, the platforms, the editions, the pre-order bonuses, and the one scam that is already costing players money.

The Countdown: 22 Days to Go

Today is October 28, 2026. Grand Theft Auto VI launches on Thursday, November 19, 2026. That is just 22 days away. If you have been waiting more than a decade for a new Grand Theft Auto, this is the final stretch - and the smart move is to lock in your pre-order now, at the official price, before the launch-week noise (and the scammers) get louder.

Release Date and Platforms

Grand Theft Auto VI launches Thursday, November 19, 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. There is no PC version announced. At launch, this is a single-player experience starring leads Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos.

The setting is Vice City and the state of Leonida, including Vice City, Leonida Keys, Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia, and Mount Kalaga. If you love open worlds, this is the big one.

Standard vs. Ultimate: Which Edition Should You Get?

The Pre-Order Bonuses: Vintage Vice City Pack + One Free Month of GTA+

Pre-orders are open now, since June 25, 2026. Every pre-order - and any purchase before November 20, 2026 - includes the Vintage Vice City Pack. Digital pre-orders also include one free month of GTA+, redeemable right away. That is a real, announced bonus for buying early through official stores - not something a reseller invented.

Pre-Load on November 12 - and the Code-in-a-Box Fact

Digital pre-load begins November 12, 2026, so you can download the game a week early and be ready the moment it unlocks on November 19. The physical version is also in stores from November 12 - but read this carefully: the physical version is a download code inside a box (no disc). If you want a disc to collect, that is not what is in the box. If you want to play on day one without a huge launch-day download, the November 12 pre-load is your friend.

Scam Warning: The Pre-Order Scam to Avoid

Do not pay $120 or more for this game on a resale site. Verified reporting shows scalpers on resale sites have charged $120+ for Grand Theft Auto VI, even though it is digitally available at $79.99 with no stock limit. There is no shortage to beat - you can buy it directly, at the official price, right now.

Even more important: Rockstar has announced NO early access and NO discount keys. Anyone selling those is scamming. If a listing promises early access, a secret discount key, or a price far above (or suspiciously below) the official price, walk away. Stick to the official stores and trusted retailers below.
